Over 10 years ago, as a Nursing Student I was looking to be pre-approved to purchase my first home. While I was an educated person in the field of science and biology, I was not financially literate.

Through my homebuying journey I researched the ‘best’ local loan officer I could find. My expecations were to be highly informed about the largest purchase of my life, and to be walked through this overwhelming process step by step.

My loan officer texted me an application link, there was no further discussion. After completing my paperwork, my loan officer said “Congrats, you’re approved”. I was handed a blank pre-approval letter and was told to “come back once I was under contract on a home”.

There was no explanation of the process, what type of loan I qualified for, what my interest rate would be, what I would expect to owe at the time of closing- virtually zero education was provided.

Extremely disappointed and frustrated on the lack of care of the most important milestone of my life thus far, I decided to switch industries all together.

Through my 10 year career I have worked at several mortgage companies and have yet to find a better organization than NFM. In my opinion, their culture and philosophies, products and services are unmatched!

While I work Monday-Sunday to support my clients when they need me most, in my spare time you can find me studying the Italian language, cooking, creating art, going to the gym and playing with my Rough Collie, Laci!

Aside from the incredible operations crew that supports me at NFM Lending, my brother, Michael Gardner has been brought onto the HYHL team starting spring of 2025!
